RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol)

RTMP is a protocol originally developed by Macromedia for streaming audio, video, and data between a server and Flash player.

While Flash is deprecated, RTMP remains widely used for stream ingest (sending streams to servers/CDNs). Many headend systems output RTMP for ingestion by streaming platforms and CDN origins.
