Multicast (IP Multicast)
Multicast is a network communication method where data is sent simultaneously to a group of interested receivers, rather than individually to each.
In managed IPTV networks, multicast is the most efficient way to deliver live TV channels. A single copy of each channel stream exists on the network, regardless of how many subscribers are watching. This dramatically reduces bandwidth usage.
